During the 1970s, TIC completed work on commercial buildings and water district projects. These projects paved the way for entry into the industrial markets of coal, dragline work and uranium.

Digging into minerals in the 1980s allowed TIC to complete its first one million man-hour project. Thompson Creek, a 25,000-ton-per-day molybdenum mine in Challis, Idaho, was TIC’s largest project at that time.

1992

In 1992, TIC completed its first EPC (engineer-procure-construct) contract. The Brady Geothermal Plant, located in Fernley, Nevada, set the stage for TIC’s future of providing clients with turnkey facilities.

1999

In 1999, TIC built the longest single-flight conveyor system in the world in Empire, Colorado. The train haul system stretches 9.5 miles underground    through the Rocky Mountains.

By the mid-2000s, TIC became the contractor of choice, installing 141 GE aeroderivative gas turbines. With 800 installed LM6000s worldwide, TIC has been involved with 20 percent of these installations.
